Leucangium carthusianum, the Oregon black truffle, is found in young Douglas-fir
stands in the Oregon Coast range. They can reach several inches in diameter and
have an "earthy pineapple" odor. They are much less common than the Oregon
white truffle, Tuber gibbosum.
